Botox Temecula
Botox in
Temecula provides real, noticeable
results, doesn’t require surgery,
and there is no recovery time.
That’s probably why 11 million
patients have chosen botox.
Botox targets specific
areas of the face to eliminate
wrinkles, especially between
the eyebrows, over the forehead
and around the lower eyelids
and Crow’s feet area. Botox Temecula
is quite versatile and can
be used to treat headaches
and for cosmetic purposes
and is performed by itself
or combined with other procedures.
If you have facial wrinkles,
call to schedule an appointment
with Dr. David Newman, Plastic
Surgeon (Temecula) to discuss
all of your options.
What is Botox Cosmetic?
BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription
medicine that is injected
under the skin and used to
improve the look of moderate-to-severe
frown lines between the brows
in people 18 to 65 years of
age for a short period of
time (temporary). Botox
is administered by Dr. Newman
(Plastic Surgeon Temecula)
as a simple, nonsurgical treatment
that is injected near the
muscles between the brows.
It works by blocking nerve
impulses to the injected muscles.
This reduces muscle activity
that causes moderate to severe
lines to form between the
brows. You will notice that
wrinkles begin to disappear
within two to five days. Some
patients who have had very
deep wrinkles between the
brows may not have complete
removal of these wrinkles
and may require a filler to
resolve them completely. The
placement of a filler to remove
lines and wrinkles can be performed
at the same time as botox. At
your botox consultation, Dr.
Newman will make recommendations
to achieve your be look.
Botox can also effectively
treat and remove wrinkles
in other parts of the face
including the Crow's foot
area (the area outside the
corner of the eye). Another
area to help relieve the presence
of wrinkles is the forehead. Some
patients can even have a "nonsurgical
brow lift" with the
help of Botox.
What does Botox Cosmetic treat?
Botox cosmetic is used mainly to stop muscle function in certain specific
small muscles of the face to remove and diminish wrinkles. When used
in these areas patients can look refreshed and youthful, and of course, have
fewer wrinkles. Some patients are concerned about having a "frozen" facial
appearance. This tends to happen when Botox is used for other areas
of the face not approved by the FDA, like the mouth and smile. When
Botox is used for the area between the brows, over the forehead and in the
Crow's foot areas, almost all of the muscles of the face remain strong and
patients get maximal effect without the "frozen" look.
Botox can also help to decrease certain headaches by stopping function of
certain muscles which are thought to trigger headaches. Patients who
have Botox treatment to treat wrinkles often report fewer headaches. Botox
is also used to treat hyperhidrosis, or increased sweating of the underarms
and hands. There are many other noncosmetic uses for Botox.
One of the effects of Botox which Dr. Newman is especially interested in relates
to it's use to preview what one may look like after cosmetic surgery. In
addition to decreasing wrinkles, Boitox can mimic the effects of eyelid surgery,
brow lifts and laser resurfacing. When patients have Botox to treat
wrinkles, they can also see, in part, what they might look like if they had
these other facial cosmetic surgeries.
Safety Issues Regarding Botox
Cosmetic
There has not been a confirmed serious case of spread of toxin effect away
from the injection site when Botox has been used at
the recommended dose to treat severe underarm sweating or when Botox has been
used at the recommended dose to treat frown lines. Please refer to the
Botox Cosmetic Site for further educational information:
