Staying in the area after surgery ensures that you have constant observation throughout your postoperative period. Each patient receives a call from the Doctor the evening of surgery and most patients see the Doctor the next day. Traveling out of the area to have surgery really benefits the doctor and not the patient. Dr. Newman was graduated with honors in Biochemistry from The University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League School in Philadelphia. He then gained broad experience in General Surgery at The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Prior to beginning training in plastic surgery he performed surgery with over 30 plastic surgeons in private practice including the famous Dr. B. Teimourian, one of the originators of liposuction. He completed an extensive and long training in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery at the prestigious Loyola University School of Medicine in Chicago where he completed over 1500 procedures as surgeon. He is on the clinical faculty of The UCLA Department of Plastic Surgery and is involved with resident training. He is invited to his alma mater in Chicago to teach residents the latest techniques in plastic surgery.
